Who Are We?

The objectives of the Korean Art History Association (KAHA) are to learn more about the history of Korean art and raise support for local artists in Jeju. Many students are not familiar with Korean art and its history. We might know all about Picasso, but not as many can claim to know about Lee Ufan, a world-renowned minimalist painter and sculptor. KAHA first and foremost to create an environment where students learn about the many different art eras, movements, and artists specific to Korea. Long-term goals include working on research about local Jeju artists, inviting local artists and art historians as guest speakers, and holding art contests for students and the community. Other projects for the club will include educational websites, creating competition entries, and social media accounts. The ultimate goal of KAHA would be to enrich the SJA community by inspiring a passion in students for Korean art.

  • Spread Awareness: Share information about KAHA and its activities with others who might be interested. Utilize social media platforms, online forums, or personal networks to raise awareness about the organization and its contributions to Korean art history.

Contribute Research: If you're a scholar or researcher in the field of Korean art history, consider submitting your research papers, articles, or studies to KAHA's publications or conferences. By sharing your work, you contribute to the academic discourse and support KAHA's mission.

  • Main goals with KAHA is to connect the SJA Jeju Community in interesting ways with local Jeju artists, historians, and community members.

  • The art history club may have a specific focus, theme, or artistic vision. Artists whose works align with the club's objectives or research areas might be more likely to be selected. For example, if the club focuses on Dansaekhwa Korean art, artists specializing in that field may be preferred.
